So Grateful

The day after we found out how much construction we needed on our home I taught a lesson about trials of faith and that trials bring forth blessings...At that time I didn't see blessings and for me it was hard thinking about the financial burden on us, the physical burden on Kevin and the health burden on Indee. Then it got harder that night when we realized that due to Indee's asthma we had to now stay somewhere else .. And not having family here was even harder.  And then Kevin's car broke down. I just thought how much worse? AND THEN Indee's accident... and I lost it. It has been the most emoitional time of my life. But  there was a comment in class about how their is always a light at the end of the tunnel and that we wll be able to see the blessings if we look and that I have. I know Heavenly FAther loves me and that He wants GREAT for us. So I just keep remembering that there are blessings to come from this and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I am sooo very grateful for all the help, love and support that we have  received this last month. This has been a very hard month but so many people have stepped forward and helped in ways that would be so hard for me. Wives have given up their husbands for many nights and  some of the wives have given up their husband almost every night since our house has been constructed on! So many people have babysat, helped me paint and clean. I have gained best friends through this event and for that I am grateful. I have grown closer to my husband and my children. Everyone has been so loving to my daughter sending presents and get well cards. Her nursery class at church made her a pretty card! The love that I have felt here in Indiana and even from our friends and family across the country has been unreal! Thank you all so much!

Krew

We cant forget this little dude!! He is so fun to watch learn and grow! Some of my favorites are his slobbery kisses, and he actually jumps on the trampoline. lol He has been such a trooper through all of this! He is such a sweet baby! He is trying to talk so much! He loves to run and runs from everyone when they are coming to get him when he is getting into something he shouldn't be:) He loves to taste anything and everything!! I love hearing his little laugh and how excited he gets to play with Indee! :)

BLessings

This month has definitely been a crazy one!! But through all of it we have had so many blessings. There have been so many people who have helped us. I really feel like the people here in Indiana have become our family. Everyone has been so helpful and offering whatever they can for us. It definitely isn't that bad. It could be way worse right? It started with the car and then the house... And then our sweet little girl getting a BIG ouchie. But all of this has seriously put so much into perspective! I have been so torn up about what happened with Indee and am still weepy over it (even thought it has not traumatized her at all) but a friend who had a very similar story to Indee's reminded me that we saw and felt a glimpse of what our Heavenly Father did during the atonement. Definitely not to that degree. But that seriously put all this into perspective for me. We are here to be there for each other and to help each other return to our Father in Heaven so that we can all be happy TOGETHER! And that's what so many people are doing for us. They have been there for us!! They have showed us so much love!! I am so grateful too be able to have all of them in my life! All this in our physical life is temporal. Its just for now and not forever.. But my family and friends are and I am so grateful for the friendships that these trials have brought to us.

Another blessing: My prayers have been consisting of Indee getting her finger back and the surgery working. That she will get full fnction of that little finger and that it wont cause her any problems in the future but I have been so worried because she hasn't been having pain in her finger which to me meant Nerve damage. And that's a scary thing. But I was talking to my sister, well texting, and she asked how indee was doing. I just told her that she hasn't complained once of pain but that I was nervous because she wasn't complaining. She told me that my whole family has been praying that Indee wont feel the pain. It seriously brought me to tears. This time they were tears of joy. Because of their faith, my baby is comfortable:)

FYI- Indee's story with Pics

Disclaimer: a picture of Indee's finger is at the end

About a month ago (on a Saturday) we found a leak in the kitchen. When we noticed that leak, we saw that it had damaged the under part of the cabinet. We wanted to know if it had done damage to the subfloor so we started lifting the flooring  and the saw that the damage spread pretty far; most of our family room and all of the kitchen. It had also damaged all of the base cabinets. When we had lifted the floors all the bad came up into the air, and with Indee and her asthma she woke up all night wheezy and needing treatments along with steroids. Well, so by Monday Kevin and I decided that she couldn't be in the house and that we would have to get a hotel. We had no idea for how long but we knew that we couldn't keep her in the house until this was fixed.

Our friends(now I feel like immediate family) called and said "We have pizza for dinner and we heard you need help so we will be there in a minute". Seriously one of the many grand blessings we have received through this was them!! Well Janna took the kids to the park while I had to go do a few things for church. I came back to the house while a lot of guys came to help rip up subfloor. When I walked in it was super- emotionally overwhelming. And then Kevin told me that it had actually damaged our master bedroom which shares a wall with the kitchen. I lost it. I broke down in front of all these guys who came to help. Kevin hugged me and said sorry for something that was way beyond his control. But I just was so overwhelmed!

Terry and Janna asked me where we were planning to stay and they offered their home, which we are now going on 3 weeks with them! It has been such a blessing being here. They have young kids who love my kids and my kids love them! And they are so fun to talk to:) They have totally welcomed us and have not made us feel like the intruders that we are!!

So, last week Kevin's starter went out on his car. And that was ANOTHER big blow. Not only are we having to put unexpected money into our house we are now having to put it into this car!!!! I just didn't know how minute these things would be within just a few days!

This past Saturday morning I wasn't feeling very great and so Kevin let me sleep in! So I got up at about 830 and Kevin left at 9, with our good friend Steve, to go work on the house. I knew I couldn't help on the house but wanted to get out with the kids so I thought I would just go get a couple Little Ceaser's pizzas for the guys working on the house that day. We pulled in at exactly 10:27am. I remember because Indee wanted to get out and climb up with me in the front. The car was off and I remember thinking "I should just have her wait a few minutes and get them out when I get out of the car" but I thought "What the heck? They can play with me for a few minutes until the store opens.
So I got them both out and Indee started to climb up first. She asked if I could open the sun roof and since it was a nice day I agreed.
At 10:28 I opened it and heard screaming. Indee had put her fingers on the track as I opened it. He little finger got stuck. By the time I could stop the sun roof her finger was almost all the way open. I tried to tug her finger and move the sun roof with my hands and couldn't. The man in his car next to me saw us and I yelled for him to please help me.

He tried to get in the car and it was locked. So I quickly unlocked it. She just kept trying to pull her finger out and couldn't. I tried to have the sun roof move back by pressing the button and all it did was drag her poor finger along with it. It was stuck in the track under the wheel and when I looked at it to see what I could do I saw bone and her ligaments. That's when I lost it! I started yelling to the man to call 911. He quickly did! And I called Steve's phone and through sobs asked them to come to Little Ceasers now and hung up so that I could try to help Indee. Kevin called back thinking the worse and asked me where I was. I told him where we were and that I couldn't get Indee unstuck. He said he felt a lot of relief which was good because one of us needed to be calm for Indee and as much as I tried I couldn't.

I was crying and of course Indee was crying. Krew was screaming in the back seat. I seriously lost it. There was absolutely nothing I could do for my sweet little girl but hold her arm up so that she wouldn't keep trying to pull it out. I just remember yelling "please ask them to hurry" through my sobs. I was so heartbroken and sad for my sweet baby who had no idea what was going on but knew that her finger was hurt and I couldn't fix it!

That was the longest 4 minutes of my wife. As soon as Indee heard the sirens from the cars she stopped crying and said "WHOO WHOO whoo like Aunt Tami's car" she stopped crying and didn't cry again throughout the day. She used to be afraid of those noises but has grown to love them.

A man and woman EMT came first. The man went straight to the window to see how to get her out. And the lady went straight for Krew. Police then showed up and one took Krew out of the car and away from the scene so that more guys could get in. Then came the firetruck. I was still holding her arm up but the firemen had asked me to move and they got in there with her.

Finally, Kevin came with Steve and I ran to the car and LOST it. Kevin first made sure that I was ok and then ran to Indee. He than ran to Indee and held her arm up. I went off to the side and started crying and hyperventilating. A Police came up to me and said "Mom she is asking for you." I would try to pull it together and go up to comfort her but could only for a second.

The scene was so overwhelming for me. There were two guys on top of the car. One on each side. one on front and 4 in the car trying to get her out. They had to bring in another firetruck that had better equipment and then had to go to Autozone because they needed more tools to get her out. I didn't want her to see me losing it so I would walk away and try to compose myself but each time I did the cop would quickly come back and say the same thing "Mom she needs you and is asking for you" I felt like the most awful mom. Not only did I open the window and hurt her but I couldn't be there for her because I was to emotional and couldn't get it together! I was there when they got her finger out and her poor little finger was so broken and mangled. They saw it, immediately put a towel around it and decided that it be best she go to the hospital in the ambulance. Kevin was much more composed so he rode with her.

The firemen were very nice and tried to put the car back together as much as they could, which I am grateful for, but I just wanted to rush to the hospital. I followed a cop car there so that I could get there quickly. I get to her room and she is just in smiles! She hadn't even gotten pain meds yet but she did have a cute little lamb from the EMT :)

I went out to a little area of the hospital and called my mom. We both cried and I vented about how horrible of a mom I am. And she kept reminding me that its ok and that it is only a finger. But I did it. I had no idea how dangerous the sunroof was but I also never checked to see how dangerous. Although Indee was emotionally WAYYYY happier than I would have ever guessed I was the reason she was now in the hospital and I felt overwhelmingly terrible!

They took Xrays and the dr came in and said "no breaks but it looks dislocated. I don't think it cut all the way through" They wanted to put the joint back in place, stitch it up and splint it- than have us see a hand specialist Monday. We asked that she see one that day. So the sent us to St. Vincents up in Indianapolis and the staff there started to prep the room to do basically what the first dr had said she was going to do. I was totally ok with that if that's what the hand specialist would advise but we wanted them to make that call. We didn't feel very confident with the ER dr.When the hand specialist got there he looked at it and said that the he needed her to be sent to OR to have it done. He told us that depending on how bad it was it could take 30 minutes -2 and a half hours to fix. Watching Indee be wheeled away with the pediatric anesthesiologist was such an awful sight. She was still fully aware of everything when they took her. Again I just had to watch and couldn't do anything.

The dr came out 2 hours later and said that her finger was connected by one tendent and a couple of nerves. Her joint and bone had been "severly damaged" which could mean that because she is so young it might fuse together leaving no mobility and feeling. But he said the blood flow looked good and he felt that her finger should take. She now has a pin holding her finger in place.

We go in on Thursday to see how it looks and will find out more news, hopefully. She has totally been a little crazy girl and cranky at times. She has acted like none of this has happened by the way she still tries to use her hurt hand to pick herself up, play, etc. It scares me to death because the pin is sticking out of her finger. She does have it wrapped but it still scares me so much!

On Sunday she was telling everyone how the fire trucks came for her and the "whooo whoos". And how the dr fixed her. And today some of her friends were asking her why she had a cast on and she said "because I get pizza and I go to the drs" lol

funny kids:)

My life really is so good. I am so blessed. Today my kids did a few funny things. Well, I thought they were cute:) Indee: When I picked her up from preschool I was handed a picture that had a y on it and a peice of yarn glued to it. And I asked her "Indee, what is it?" And she yelled, super excitedly "YARNING". :) I Love her Kevin came home for lunch today and kissed the kids goodnight at naptime and then walked out. Indee started crying for him so I told her that she could see him when he gets home from work. But that wasnt good enough so Kevin had to come back to tell her that he would play with her as soon as he got home. lol... We then shut the door and she went to sleep::) And my tough boy, Krew: I was outside getting a hammer out of the tool shed and i hear a thump on the ground. Krew's head had smacked the ground hard so I ran over but noticing that he had not yet noticed me and with him not crying I quickly ran back to the shed to watch. Krew just got up and acted as if nothing happened. He makes me laugh!! I love my wonderful family!!! :)

Today was a good day!

Lately I have been having ALOT of bad days. Days where I just REALLY want to lay in bed and do absolutely nothing! Does that ever happen? No and thats probably the only reason as to why I want to. But I love my family too much to ever do that! But ALL last week consisted of babies throwing up, having diarrhea and crying. I heard ALOT of crying... but between those moments I got lots of snuggles. And thats why i wouldnt wallow in any stupid emotions. But today Indee had 2 friends over. Although there was lots of tattling and yelling:) "jack touched my toy" lol, i saw soooo many smiles out of Indee and days like this make life so worth it!! She is such a cutie and she is sooo much fun! I love hearing her laugh!! We watched Tangles and the two kids that came over (4 years old) started saying "eww" when repunzel kissed the boy at the end and indee started laughing and saying "ewwww" for the next 10 minutes. She totally didnt get why they were saying it but it totally made me smile!! She is such a sweetheart!

Krewson

My sweet Krew... Krew on his first birthday... lol... hopefully Krew wont hate us but this was his only birthday present from grandma and grandpa... We had been so busy and yea didnt get around to it.... Im such a bad mom! Krew is super mobile. He has been walking since he was 10 mos old He is such a sweet heart and is getting more and more cuddly. He gives kisses. Whenever I pucker up he leans into me with his mouth open gives us a slobbery face:) He folds his arms for prayers He claps and is starting to point. He gives high fives He says a few words but the ones he actually uses are mama, buhbuh (buhbye), and babababa- (milk) He loves animals and has so much fun walking around petco He will walk up to us with a huge smile and put his hands straight in the air- meaning "pick me up"- this is something indee never did. Well maybe she is starting to do it now:) He is a very happy boy and LOVES his sister even if she is kind of rough! We love our handsome boy very much!

sick

We have been one sick family here at the Pellegrino home! We caught that nasty flu bug that has been going around. That was the first time that I have had to take care of two very sick babies while being very sick myself. Man that was sooooo hard. Normally i get sick but not at the same time! Kevin, luckily, did not get sick and helped me alot when he got home from work! Funny story: Krew had done soo well all day keeping down plain foods and pedialight so I thought Ill give him a little milk. And Krew LOVED it! Kevin came home shortly after and I handed Krew over. Not even a minute later KRew had thrown up on him!! Like bad throw up! so I come over to kevin to try and help and all I could do was gag!! So Kevin said he would take care of it. :) I took Indee up stairs and hung out with her there, And then the next day I literally stuck to just pedialite for krew.. no food or milk. He again did so well. Well Kevin came home and I again handed him off. AGAIN, not a minute later, Krew threw up all over him! lol... I know it really shouldnt be funny but it wsa to me because both days as soon as Kevin came home he got thrown up on!! What are the chances when Krew hadnt been throwing up all day. Indee had more of a really bad cold with a fever. She needed a few breathing treatments but besides that it really wasnt too horrible for her. The week was hard but both of my kids cuddled with me the entire week and I wouldnt have traded that for the world!

Indee

Indee is such a sweet sweet girl!! I love her so much. She is so caring! The other day she was being so quiet at bedtime and doing everything she was supposed to be doing (staying quiet, not jumping off her bed, not throwing things into Krew's crib) and so I went in to just say thank you to her. She bit her tongue and was telling me how it hurt and I told her how I bit my cheek. Then she kissed my cheek to make it better! :) When I say "Thank you", or anyone for that matter, she says "No, problem." She is getting so much better at playing with Krew softly and not kicking him in the face. And yes that has been quite a problem:) She is just not starting to want to hold Krew which is pretty dificult because he is very mobile and no longer wants his sister to hold him. She is in a 3 and 4t depending on the clothes. She is the size of a 4 year old which gets me some awesome looks in the store when she is on the ground screaming and having a melt down. lol She LOVES Diego and George and has asked for a Diego Birthday party:) She loves gymnastics and asks to go everyday! She is starting to identify a few letters and loves to color and paint!! She is such an awesome little girl! I am so grateful that she is in my life and that i get to cuddle that cutie!! :)

Indee and Jack

So I dont know if Jack knows this, but he is Indee's best friend. She asks for him daily!!! Every night before she goes to bed she asks if she can jump with Jack- meaning if she could go to gymnastics with him. This was taken at a holiday party but I thought it was soo cute! And I am pretty sure her Spiderman fedish is because Jack likes Spriderman! :)

KIT

Kevin- He is still busy at work. He says he is even more stressed with work then he was with school. Which must mean he is super stressed! Right now he is working on fixing the old car so that we can sell it. He would like to get a road bike and bike to work. I asked him about the snow and rain and he said he didnt care. lol.. we will see how that works. I know I wouldnt ride a bike in the snow and rain:) He comes home to eat lunch with me almost everyday. HE is sooo amazing! He seriously doesnt come hom and ever sit. He wrestles with the kids while I get dinner going then helps with their baths and dishes. I soo lucked in on Kevin!! Me- Just taking care of the kids:) Indee- She is potty trained. Even at night! She has done so amazing. We struggled for a few weeks and then said a SMALL prayer one night. The next morning a small thought came to not put any underwear or pull ups on her. And it seriously clicked instantly. She didnt necessarily like it at first but it worked. We are still working on her number 2's. She is also signed up for gymnastics starting this saturday!! I think she will love it. Krewson- Our poor son has had 8 ear infections his whole life. They keep coming back and so he is prescribed a stronger antibiotic everytime. We finally were able to get into the ENT dr and they said he needs tubes. So he has been crawling/pulling himself up for the past 3-4 months and hasnt developed past crawling. The dr said he probably wont without the tubes because his ears are full of soo much fluid. Right now Krew hears everything as if he is underwater. My poor boy. Its considered a surgery so he will have it done at the surgical center. He will be ut under for 4 minutes and it will take 2 minutes to put the tubes in. Due to the expense of it and our high deductibles our house hunting will be on hold:) To be honest I kind of dont want to move into a house because I REALLY want to go back to cali in 5 years or so. We will probably flip a house within that time but we will see. We may end up here forever!!

The happenings here in Columbus

This is what I found!!!!!!!!! I almost died. I took Indee's little seat off the toilet so that I could close the lid and there it was!!! Oh my gosh. Our friend wanted it for her preschool class so I made Kevin catch it. lol. he admitted he was a little scared after the fact
Indee's best friend. His mom and i switch babysitting each week so that we can get things done that we need. It has been wonderful!
And this was on our real estate agents window. It made me laugh. We really are in the country of Indiana:)

Chilly Columbus

It has been pretty chilly here staying under 50 so we have been doing this alot to save on bills. Oh my goodness it is awesome. It just gives such a homey lovey atmosphere. We have been loving it!

Happy Hippie Halloween!

So we decided to be Hippies this year!! :) We started Halloween out by going to our friend's ward party on Saturday. Then Indee had a little party with her school and got to decorate her very own pumpkim. We then went to a Halloween party at ur church and she got soooo much candy. Then Halloween night we went to a friend's get together and ate dinner. We left Krew with the party and took Indee out to trick or treat. After about 4 houses she tripped and got hurt. I dont know why it triggered her thought but she then noticed Krew wasnt with us and freaked out. She must have thought we forgot him somewhere. Poor girl. She sure loves him!
The kids wouldnt cooperate so you cant get the full effect of the costumes
I made Indee's outfit and she really liked it. lol. It was funny to watch her walk around in the pants. She thought she was a movie star.
We could not stop laughing at this one. So many people came up to take his picture because it was just too funny!! His outfit was sking tight:)

Sewing

So I have done a little sewing. Well actually alot. Ive made more than this just havent taken pictures. But I love to sew. I just wish material wasnt so expensive...

Haircuts

SO I went to a salon and got a horrible haircut. Like the worst I had ever gotten. Indee would have cut it better! But a friend said she goes to FAntastic sams and really likes it... so I did too! And I like it:)
Kevin lost a bet at work. It was with the BYU V. Notre Dame game. I guess a guy he worked with went to Notre Dame and so they bet on the game. The school/person who lost had to do this:)

KIT with us

I know it has been soooooooooooo long since I posted and I am hoping that this will be a new start to a better blogger:) We are slowly house hunting! We dont want to rush it but we are looking for a fixer upper. So that should be fun:) Kevin- He is soooo busy at work! But thats a good thing:) HE is able to come home for lunch alot of days which is soo nice! I love spending as much time with his as I can. HE is going to start mountain bike riding with some guys from work I am glad he'll be able to do that! Missa- I have been sewing lots:) Ill post the things later. I am also trying to find new things for our family to do! I am surprised at how much there is to do here in COlumbus. Indee- Is potty training. She is doing so well. she has had a few accidents and has trouble going number 2 in the toilet. in fact we have yet to see that happen:) Krew- is so happy and big. in the 3% for height and 63% for weight so he is short and chubby:) I LOVE it! He is crawling and climbing himself up on EVERYTHING but he has no desire to walk. He wont even walk whie holding my fingers! I love my family and I am so blessed to be able to have them! Columbus is warming up to me:) but i am so grateful that we have this great oppurtunity to be here:)

President Linda Burton

So yup she came here to Indianapolis. Our stake president asked her to come and she said YES! I really needed to hear her speak. She spoke on Temples and the blessings it can bring to your home, family, marriage, and your neighbors around you. So I think I will try harder to make it to the temple and maybe that will help things feel better here:) We are going to have a temple built in Indianapolis. The dedication is in 2 years:) Until then we will travel to Louisville, KY and go there. Its about 2 hours away.

Columbus

To be totally honest I have been having a really hard time here in Columbus lately. Its hard going from a place like Wymount where I can see friends everyday and also have friends for Indee to play with to not really having that. I know that knowwhere else on earth will be like it was in Wymount but I wish I could bring it with me everywhere I go. :) But Kevin has been so good in trying to make it better for the both of us. So after we put the kids to bed he did this for me...
But Indee kept yelling for something else literally from 730pm-1030 pm. We had 2 poopie pullups in that time as well! lol... but it was still fun even if every 5 minutes we had to do something else for her! lol

Sick in Columbus

My kids have had some bad coughs here in Columbus. They got them in utah too. But this particular day they lounged out in PJS all day and watched movies. My poor babies

Indee in Columbus

I think Indee has had a harder time being here. She came from a place where she could play with the same friends every day, almost all day. And now its hard to be able to do. Practically impossible. I try to take her somewhere every morning or most mornings. But she doesnt play with kids like she used to and she has a REALLY hard time playing with new people. She just doesnt. After at least an hour of encouraging her to play with someone new she will but by then we or they are leaving. I feel bad for her. Here she is after dressing herself:)
She LOVES helping me. If I am doing dishes, she wants to help. IF I am cooking, she wants to help. If I am cleaning the bathroom, she wants to help. She is always finding ways to help me:)
At the firestation with her joyschool class. She liked it until the fireman got dressed into his gear. She lost it after that. She was so freaked out.
Proof that she loved this car at some point so that when she turns 16 she cant complain:) lol
This "meow" used to hang out by our house and she loved to play with it. IT was great because we got a pet without having to do anything for it! :) Sadly our neighbors moved and took the kitty with them. No more free pets!
Indee on her first horse ride. We went to Apple Works apple orchard. It was so fun. She rode a choo choo train, rode on a horse, got to pet animals, play in hay and all kinds of fun stuff. We were going to take a hay ride and pick our own pumpkin but we had a melt down so we went and ate dinner instead:)
She never stops making me laugh! She is soo fun! Here she is picking the coins out of the fountain! lol... I made her put them back...

Krewson in Columbus

Krewson is soo happy all the time. In fact when we took him in for his 6 mos check the nurse asked if he was always that happy. I said yes. Then we saw the dr. He came in and told us KRew had a very bad ear infection in BOTH ears!! The dr said if he were to rate it with 10 being the worse he would give it a 10! I felt so bad. Krew was just too happy for me to think anything was wrong. He does get ear infections so often and so bad that he does need tubes. Poor guy. We meet with the ENT on Halloween to sched a date! Here he is with a truck from Papa Mark
Our happy boy..
This is when I decided that he had outgrown his bassinet. lol. He's just a little crunched in there. Dont you think?
Having fun with mommy while daddy looks for glasses
His first big bonk on his head. I seriously cant remember how he got it.
