I already know about the basics that we need (diapers/ bed/ stroller/ carseat/ onesies type of thing) but does anyone recommend anything else that they feel they had to have!!!!And maybe things (like brands) that you totally dont recommend?! If so let me know!! Im totally interested! Thanks everyone!!!!

Thanks for inviting me to your blog Melissa!!

As far as baby stuff goes... I was very happy to have a boppy pillow for nursing (used it everyday, plus it was a nice place to lay Lily on the floor when I had to use both hands for something), an electric breastpump (manual ones are terrible), and once Lily was a couple months old an umbrella stroller (cause they are super light and much easier to cart around then the big travel system ones). We foolishly spent way too much money on a video monitor system, which was a waste of money for us because for most of the beginning she was in our room.. and a simple sound monitor would have been perfectly fine. Anyways... goodluck on your first baby!
Oh and as far as my Dr. goes (Dr. Richard Holmes the one I told you about on fb) I think he is good about letting you do natural births if you want... he's pretty laid back and lets the mom make the decisions (unless there is a medical reason that he has to intervene on obviously). So i hope you find a new dr that you like!!

My must-have's would be:

-a boppy pillow for SURE. they are great for everything. really helpful with nursing and great for letting your little one lay in them if you need to do something. my daughter used to nap in hers constantly.

-a baby bjorn. these are great for when you travel and don't want to worry about hauling a stroller and carseat through the airport. also great for carrying your baby around the mall or something when you don't want to haul the stroller. or just nice for going for a walk. (great workout!)

-ALWAYS have mylicon on hand. And a good amount. it's a medicine that helps with gas bubbles and it works miracles.

-a good swaddle blanket did wonders for my daughter. swaddleMe is a great brand. but your daughter may not enjoy swaddling a lot. it's good to try.

-and for you! someone recommended using frozen adult diapers after delivering naturally because it helps heal and soothe episiotomy cuts/tears. you can also freeze maxi pads. also make sure you have a good nursing bra AND a good nursing SLEEPING bra. that one looks like a sports bra but isn't so structured as a nursing bra.

oh man, i feel like i'm busting opens with must haves.

feel free to e-mail me if you need more! haha. aedgeworth27@gmail.com

Okay, a swing has always been a must have in my family. There is nothing more awesome than putting the baby in the swing while you get a much needed nap or have to cook dinner. I also agree with the others who said to get a boppy. Love that thing! Those are my 2 must haves. :)

A bouncer has really done wonders for us (babies off the floor but comfortable and most have mobile type things attached for them to look at/play with) we take it everywhere because its lightweight and because its used so often! We LOVE the high chairs that attach to our kitchen chairs as opposed to "free standing" ones. The high chair we have is at our table height and its perfect for any age (it reclines and sits upright depending on the babies age/developmental abilities). I also HIGHLY recommend the Baby Bjorn carriers! I use mine EVERYWHERE! Its a little more pricey but worth EVERY penny! I like the Playtex Air Vent bottles because it allows air to escape the bottle helping to minimize spit ups and gas issues. A pack n play is GREAT for when the baby is first born and sleeping in your room. You don't need an expensive bassinet and you can use it on trips, camping, when family/friends stay, etc. Its multi-purpose and that's great! I personally think the Bobby pillows are overrated. I have had mine with both boys and not used it once. Its pricey and your own pillow does the same things it does. I think the bumbo chairs are pretty cool but if you have a friend who has one borrow it. They only use them for a short time and they're about $50. Its better to borrow. I also think wipe warmers are overrated. Make sure you get a good diaper bag with plenty of space for your stuff too! Good luck!
